We are excited to be opening a drop-in ‘Living Room’ for people in crisis or who need mental health support.  Individuals will be able to stop in, talk to agency staff, have a snack, and receive assistance with their immediate mental health needs or help connecting to other services they might need. The Living Room will be located in Quincy, Illinois.

New career opportunities at our Living Room include:

Recovery Support Specialists  who will provide recovery-oriented education, resources, and connection with community resources and natural supports for Living Room guests in need of mental health support.  Applicants must be 21+ years of age, have direct experience as a recipient of mental health services, and demonstrate the ability to incorporate his/her own personal experience in their recovery journey in order to inspire others.  Hours include 2-3 weekday evenings/week until 8pm (no weekends).  Full-time or part-time positions available!

Engagement Specialist who will engage and support people from our community who are living in state-operated psychiatric hospitals to ensure their successful transition back to community living and linkage to needed services.  This work will be conducted in office-based and natural environments (home and community).  Applicants must be 21+ years of age, have direct experience as a recipient of mental health services, and demonstrate the ability to incorporate his/her own personal experience in their recovery journey in order to inspire others.  Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field preferred.  Hours are primarily daytime with 1 evening/week until 8pm at the Living Room and on-call coverage about once/week (BA/BS candidates only).  Full-time position!

Community Support Workers who will provide community support, counseling, skills training, and stabilization services to Living Room guests and individuals living in the community who are in need of mental health services. CSWs will assess guests’ need for services and provide recovery-oriented education and linkage to community resources and natural supports. This work will be conducted at the Living Room and in natural environments (home and community).  Applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or other Human Services field.  Hours are daytime with 2 weekday evenings/week until 8pm and on-call coverage about once/week.  Full-time positions!
