9 – 8 – 8 … An Important Number to Remember
If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis, help is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – just call 9 – 8 – 8. You will reach a trained crisis counselor who will help you. The counselor may talk with you and provide information and support or he/she may access local crisis intervention staff who can come to the scene of your crisis to assist you. Transitions has a mobile crisis response team and we provide on-site crisis intervention services, when needed. We all remember 911 can help us if we are having a medical crisis or have a need for emergency services … 9 – 8 – 8 works the same – call that number if you are having a mental health crisis.
